We know how girls learn best

At Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, girls are inspired to embrace every opportunity in a learning environment that celebrates their potential and supports their growth.

Discovering Strengths, Inspiring Learning

At OLSH College, we believe every girl is unique, bringing her own strengths, experiences and ways of learning to the classroom.

Grounded in cognitive science, our approach to teaching helps students understand how learning happens best and encourages full participation, enabling every girl to grow in confidence, develop effective learning habits and achieve her potential.

By exposing students to a broad range of subjects and opportunities, we encourage them to discover their interests, talents and future pathways. OLSH College offers more than 70 SACE subjects across Years 11 and 12, allowing each girl to pursue areas in which she excels while keeping a wide range of future options open.

Through a learning framework underpinned by cognitive science, we empower every student not only to achieve academically, but to become a capable, confident and independent learner.

Through a rich range of co-curricular activities, leadership opportunities, events and experiences, students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Together with high-quality classroom teaching, these opportunities provide a well-rounded education that empowers every girl to realise her potential and successfully navigate her chosen pathway.

Pathways for Success

Our subject counselling process recognises that every girl’s journey is unique.

We work closely with each girl, building on the self-reflection process from Years 7-9 to identify her strengths, interests and aspirations, ensuring she selects subjects that support her individual goals and open pathways to further study, training or employment.

Whether her dream pathway leads to university, TAFE, an apprenticeship or another future opportunity, we are committed to helping every student achieve her personal best and pursue her ambitions with confidence.

"Thank you so much for the opportunities, stability and care you have given our Granddaughter during the last six years. She has certainly blossomed and grown in confidence. Thank you to all her teachers over this time and in particular her music teacher Ms. Kellie; she has really enjoyed her years in the choir, rock band and ukulele ensemble."
